About The Position

Summary: The Catering Runner is responsible for supporting the Catering Servers and Bartenders to ensure that guests have an exceptional experience throughout the arena. The Runner assists with delivering food and beverages, clearing plates and glassware, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. In addition, the Runner helps with setup and breakdown before and after service to ensure all catering operations run smoothly.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years' experience working in a similar setting.
• The candidate should have an outgoing personalitiy and the ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing exceptional experience.
• They have the ability to communicate effectively, problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
• Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven runner/bar back exerience in a fast-paced enviornment.
• Conflict resolutions and de-esclation skills.
• Ability to build rapport and create a welcoming atmospher for guests.
• Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods of time throughout the day.
• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves all needed food items from kitchen and delivers to bar area.
• Retrieves all needed beverage items and garnishes from storerooms and delivers to bar area.
• Sets up bottles on bar with 'top shelf' liquor on back shelf.
• Ensures beer taps are working properly.
• Places appropriate bar snacks on counter; keeps supplies, such as snacks and napkins, stocked throughout shift.
• Assists in opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Buses tables in bar area.
• Helps ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas; washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and floors under equipment; sweeps and mops service areas, including floor mats.
• Ensures rubbish is removed from all receptacles.
• Prepares and serves beverages as needed to assist bartender.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
