The Multnomah Athletic Club is looking for a Catering Kitchen Line Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This individual will work in a station in the kitchen as scheduled by the Executive Chef and execute all related duties of that station.

Requirements

  • Ability to work at least one station on the line successfully.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
  • One year of line cook experience in a similar environment.
  • Possession of valid food-handler’s permit.
  • Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and fabricates items for use in the kitchen according to established recipes and procedures.
  • Stores product as received and rotates stock according to established procedures.
  • Maintains coolers and storage areas and ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all areas.
  • Keeps workstation clean, sanitary and orderly in accordance with health department regulations.
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as established by the Executive Chef.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
  • Prepares dishes for members and guests with food allergies and intolerances.
  • Works at an efficient and consistent pace.
  • Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
  • Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
