About The Position

The Catering Manager is the member/guests first point of contact. They are an ORC leader who acts as the liaison between club members and the club operational departments in the planning and execution of catered events. They are hospitality professionals who use their creativity and experience in planning to suggestively walk a client through the organizational details necessary for a successful event.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred and must have 3-5 years of Hospitality Industry experience, specific experience in Catering/Event Planning; experienced wedding planning a plus.
  • Progressive growth in F&B; must be energetic, outgoing and enthusiastic.
  • Must be knowledgeable in MS Office, Sales-Force and Delphi.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to read/write the English language in order to communicate with Members, contacts and co-workers and fully understand job assignments.
  • Must have the ability and confidence to make timely decisions and change to obtain the highest levels of the Ocean Reef Club Quality Standards.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach, grab and lift objects over shoulder height
  • Must be able to squat and kneel down on regular basis
  • Must be able to bend & twist upper body to reach up, down or side-ways on regular basis
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook.
  • As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Use active selling techniques to direct a client through the planning and preparation of a successful Catering event.
  • Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) thoroughly. Noting accurate details of billing, date, count, location, menu and timing also including all special details of décor, linen, setup and special F&B orders (dietary restrictions).
  • Responsible to actively communicate and coordinate with all club operational departments regarding the details of their events.
  • Supervise and observe planned events to provide product consistency and ensure satisfaction of our members, guests and associates.
  • Timely follow up with our clients both pre and post-event to insure complete satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in club meetings/ trainings as required.
  • Must be flexible to adjust scheduled days and hours as business dictates.
  • Always represent the Ocean Reef Club professionally.
