About The Position

The Catering Director is responsible for planning and managing overall catering functions. The Catering Director supervises total catering operations including client sales, catering staff and kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, business administration or related field of study
  • Previous experience in food service or other related fields
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Professional appearance and attire
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • Coordinate all catering activities and personnel
  • Assist in the company’s overall marketing strategy to maximize effectiveness or profitability
  • Develop menus and pricing
  • Distribute all meeting information and supplies to attending personnel
  • Calculate and propose budgets for planned events or meetings
  • Research and identify successful event opportunities
  • Maintain stock of event supplies
  • Oversee guest services and resolve issues
  • Ensure a high quality of ingredients and food preparation
  • Create and adjust staff schedules to meet needs
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Provide client quotes as requested
  • Negotiation of contracts and collection of payment from clients
  • Create strong relationships with clients, vendors, venues and community
