About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Catering Clerk/Driver to join our busy Catering Department at our Sayville store. Our gourmet market is always bustling with catering orders - from preparation to packaging and delivery - and we're looking for a friendly, dependable team member to help us continue delivering exceptional service and food quality. The Catering Clerk/Driver plays a key role in ensuring our catering operations run smoothly - both in-store and on the road. You'll assist with preparing, packaging, and delivering orders while providing excellent customer service at every stage. Core scheduling hours fall between 7 AM and 7 PM (example shifts: 12 PM-7 PM, 3 PM-7 PM, etc.). As a Catering Clerk, you'll help prepare foods, take and process orders, and keep work areas neat and organized. As a Catering Driver, you'll deliver and set up our gourmet catering orders safely and efficiently, ensuring each delivery meets our high-quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum 19 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of driving experience and at least 1 year of delivery experience (catering preferred).
Valid driver's license held for at least 3 years with a clean driving record.
Friendly and professional customer service skills.
Ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs safely and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Flexibility to work assigned shifts and comply with all attendance policies.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide courteous, attentive service.
Prepare, package, and label catering orders with accuracy and attention to detail (including utensils, condiments, linens, and service items).
Safely deliver and set up catering orders at client locations using the company catering van/car.
Assist with preparing foods for catering or deli during non-delivery times.
Take and process catering orders in person, over the phone, and online; ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with in-store demos, loading/unloading catering deliveries, and general department upkeep.
Arrive on time, in uniform, and follow all company attendance and safety policies.
