About The Position

The Category Consultant – Reporting and Capabilities will build on and deliver against the Category Management vision of being the trusted indispensable consultative partner for both our customers and Hershey. They will be a part of an agile execution team working cross functionally, to be a leader in Hershey’s long-term data and planogram solution strategy, by driving enterprise-wide value, improving decision making and accelerating top-line growth, through innovative solutions and reporting capabilities.

  • Bachelor's Degree Required (STEM preferred)
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience across multiple functions (including but not limited to, Category Management, Customer Sales, Demand Planning, Commercial Planning, Revenue Growth Management, Data Science & Analytics, etc..) advanced analytical skills, knowledge of consumer sales industry trends and working knowledge of the category management process.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and practical use of SQL as well as Extract, Transform, Load procedures
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx

Responsibilities

  • Deliver visualizations that answer business questions and clearly present data insights, following established principles.
  • Manage data quality with strong governance and attribution processes.
  • Analyze and interpret data using tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, Databricks, Circana, and Nielsen.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to confirm data accuracy and availability.
  • Advise business and project teams on visualization strategies and their impact on data needs.
  • Identify data gaps with sales and category teams and create solutions to boost growth.
  • Monitor and adjust implemented solutions to optimize results.
  • Use internal and external partnerships to improve business outcomes.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders as a subject matter expert in forums like Hershey Insight Networks and customer meetings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and category management practices.
  • Work with agile teams throughout design phases for enhancements to enterprise systems.
  • Use the Commercial Data Store (CDS) to enhance decision making and integrate data across domains.
  • Handle large data sets and integrate sources to generate actionable insights.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration within the Advisor team and partners.
  • Maintain planogram governance procedures and onboarding best practices.
  • Lead projects that shape category futures, including macro-space planning and merchandising standards.
  • Establish yourself as the top provider of category expertise internally and with retailers.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
