About The Position

Uniti’s vendor contracting team within the Legal Department plays a critical role in supporting contracting actions for corporate and business unit purchasing. In particular, Category Consultants are vital to a smooth contract lifecycle management process, ensuring risk to Uniti is managed with appropriate contract terms and vendor agreements are reviewed, negotiated, executed and stored in an efficient manner. Category Consultants support contract actions that fall into various vendor categories, including but not limited to Marketing, IT, Professional Services, Fleet, Network Infrastructure, Travel and Benefits/Human Resources. You will report to the Vice President & Assistant Corporate Secretary.

Requirements

A college degree
5+ years of professional-level experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Ability to work independently on complex matters with minimal supervision
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and demonstrated competency with vendor management tools and ERP applications/systems.

Nice To Haves

JD or Paralegal experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Review, draft and negotiate complex contracts (master service agreements, confidentiality agreements, amendments, statements of work, etc.) with potential vendors, both using Uniti templates and also occasionally vendor contract templates.
Interface with internal business owners to ensure negotiations align with key stakeholder expectations, to advise of potential risk exposure to the company, and to provide periodic review status updates as appropriate.
Work closely with Procurement Sourcing team members, including participation in development of risk/benefit analysis for strategic vendors and RFx administration.
Adhere to internal policies and procedures for contract processing, including summarization documentation, signature authority policies, and electronic signature routing via Docusign.
Stay informed about Uniti’s business units and strategy to ensure contracting support aligns with company goals.
