Job Specific Duties: Responsible for operating the cash register and providing excellent customer service in the café. Duties include handling cash transactions, assisting with food service, maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and supporting deliveries. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards, including FIFO procedures and infection control. Complete safety logs, follow company and regulatory guidelines (CDPH, Joint Commission, CMS), and participate in training. Additional tasks include proper disposal of waste, handling hazardous materials per policy, and other duties as assigned. What you will need: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required. Strong customer service skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Good communication skills and ability to work well with others. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out directions given in written or oral form. Ability to problem solve. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and compute ratios and percent's. Must have a valid California Food Handlers Certification or will obtain within seven days of hire. Physical and Sensory Requirements Ability to lift and move objects, up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
