This Cashier position is in the Front-End Department and reports to the Customer Service Manager. The role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service that surpasses customer expectations. Key duties involve accurately handling transactions, including recording prices, collecting various forms of payments (cash, checks, credit cards), making change, and ensuring the cash drawer is accurately balanced. The Cashier must strictly adhere to correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, and department transfers. Additionally, the role requires verifying identification for checks and credit card purchases, and implicitly following all liquor and tobacco laws, including ID verification. Beyond transactional duties, Cashiers are expected to embody a positive 'can-do' attitude, treat all individuals with respect, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to workplace changes.
