The Cashier role, part of the Front-End department and reporting to the Customer Service Manager, is responsible for providing service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to stand for long periods.

- Ability to frequently use wrists, hands, hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to frequently bend at the waist and reach with arms and hands into the customer’s grocery cart to collect merchandise.
- Ability to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to speak effectively with customers and staff members.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
Responsibilities
- Accurately records prices and collects payments.
- Responsible for accurate balancing of the cash drawer.
- Follows and implements correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, and department transfers.
- Accurately collects cash, checks, or charge payments from customers and makes changes when required on cash transactions.
- Verifies identification for authenticity and signature when processing checks and credit card purchases.
- Follows liquor and tobacco laws implicitly, in every regard including, but not limited to the verification and authenticity of valid, acceptable identification.
- Provide customer service that is extraordinary and exceeds the expectations of our customers.
- Follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers.
