Front End - Cashier
About The Position
A Cashier is responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers. This includes accurately recording prices, collecting payments, and ensuring the accurate balancing of the cash drawer. The role requires following correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, and department transfers. Cashiers must accurately handle cash, checks, or charge payments from customers and provide change when necessary. They are also responsible for verifying identification for authenticity and signature when processing checks and credit card purchases, and implicitly following all liquor and tobacco laws, including ID verification. Beyond transactional duties, Cashiers are expected to provide extraordinary customer service, demonstrating a positive "can-do" attitude, treating others with respect, and easily adjusting to changes in the workplace.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to provide extraordinary customer service, demonstrating a positive "can-do" attitude, treating others with respect, and easily adjusting to changes in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Accurately records prices and collects payments.

- Follows and implements correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, and department transfers.
- Accurately collects cash, checks, or charge payments from customers and makes changes when required on cash transactions.
- Verifies identification for authenticity and signature when processing checks and credit card purchases.
- Follows liquor and tobacco laws implicitly, in every regard including, but not limited to the verification and authenticity of valid, acceptable identification.
