About The Position

Moscow Building Supply is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier. As the primary point of contact for our customers, the Cashier plays a vital role in providing outstanding service and ensuring smooth and efficient transactions. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and inviting personality, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Requirements

Punctuality and reliability are essential qualities for this role
Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Must pass a background check
Must pass a drug test

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for customers, greeting them and assisting with inquiries
Direct customers to the appropriate department or associate for specialized assistance or product information
Collect various forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards, checks, and coupons
Handle cash counting and arithmetic accurately
Balance the cash register at the end of each shift, reconciling transactions and ensuring accurate accounting of sales
Manage coupon redemption and apply discounts to customer purchases as applicable
Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy checkout area to enhance the customer experience
Act as a team player, collaborating with colleagues and supporting other departments as needed
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Record product prices & taxability
