About The Position

GSA Management LLC is a fast-growing institutional developer and owner of real estate self-storage assets nationwide. The Cash Application Specialist plays a crucial role on the accounting team, providing vital support to the company's cash management processes. Objective: In this role, you will be responsible for processing and reconciling incoming payments and unapplied cash in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year related cash application experience preferred
• Experience processing refunds and handling credit card chargebacks preferred
• Customer service or customer-facing experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Nice To Haves

• Self-storage experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager preferred

Responsibilities

• Reconciling incoming payments (checks, credit cards, and cash) from tenants against bank reports promptly.
• Monitoring and reviewing unapplied cash balances.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies by proactively communicating with the Operations and Accounting teams.
• Assisting the Accounting team with month-end close activities related to cash application and reconciliation.
• Preparing ad hoc reports and supporting special projects as needed.
• Processing tenant refunds in accordance with company policies and ensuring proper documentation and approval.
• Managing and responding to credit card chargebacks, including gathering supporting documentation and coordinating with stores.
• Maintaining detailed records of refunds and chargebacks to support audit and internal control requirements.
• Communicating directly with store teams and tenants to resolve refund requests and chargeback-related inquiries.
