About The Position

The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of customer credit card payments. This role is analytical and will research and reconcile all cash application related variances in accordance with Twist Bioscience's established policies and procedures and at the direction of the Cash Application Manager. The Specialist will manage a significant volume of transactions requiring fast decision making and will be an initiative-taker who enjoys working as an individual contributor supporting the department at-large. Hybrid Position - Onsite 3 Days per week.

Requirements

General understanding of accounting concepts and procedures.
Proficiency in utilizing SAP for efficient cash application processes.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Well-organized with extreme diligence.
Self-directed and initiative-taking in managing tasks.
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
Strong time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve payment escalation and discrepancy inquiries related to cash application from internal teams and regular individual research.
Ensure multi currency payments are processed accurately and appropriately recorded.
Research remittance and transaction details to resolve unapplied cash, unidentified cash, and payment variations.
Verify duplicate payments and follow up with the customers to issue refunds as well as aiding in the disposition of unapplied cash per company policies.
Regularly auditing of foreign exchange (FX) fees and bank fees incurred on payments to ensure proper General Ledger allocation.
Maintain compliance with internal and external financial policies and procedures such as Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for credit card processing.
Responsible for the end-to-end credit card process from presentment to settlement, including declined transactions, dispute, refund, and chargeback research and resolution.
Ensure collection teams are kept up to date on outstanding cash application issues.
Utilize available tools to identify opportunities for optimizing Cash Application and other Accounts Receivable processes.
Assist in special cash Application related projects, including providing support to external auditors and participating in all cash application testing for company initiatives.
