WHAT WE WILL DO FOR YOU: A 37.5 per hour work week to ensure work/life balance Medical, dental, vision, and prescription benefits to keep you and your loved ones healthy Employer-paid short- and long-term disability insurance Life insurance coverage at no cost to you Up to 2 weeks of vacation in your first year (based on hours worked) Up to 2 weeks of sick leave (based on hours worked) 12 paid agency recognized holidays 2 floating holidays to use your way 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching (eligibility applies) Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family Potential eligibility for Student Loan Forgiveness through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Provide ongoing professional support to Safe Families Volunteers Provide training information and support to Safe Families volunteers Meet with newly-vetted volunteers, interview and identify areas of interest Conduct Home Screening Visits, ensuring safety protocols have been met and home provides a safe and nurturing environment for children being hosted Attend weekly and monthly Safe Families conference calls and in-person meetings Responsible for screening client referrals for appropriateness and goodness of fit Support the process of connecting clients to their Safe Families volunteer team Facilitate hosting placements and ensuring a smooth transition of client’s children into the care of volunteer host families and the return to their parents Maintain data tracking, documentation, and weekly reports Perform welfare check or assign appropriate level of volunteer of newly placed children within 48 hours of arriving at host family Knowledge of dynamics of high-risk families including substance use and behavioral health Experience working with a variety of individuals in difficult circumstances, including angry and hostile clients, disadvantaged individuals, families in provision of services, mentally/emotionally ill individuals, and developmentally delayed clients Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served Assist with social media posting, newsletters, and other community engagement/social media needs for Safe Families as needed Ability to travel to families and volunteers’ homes and communities required. A valid driver's license, car insurance, and access to a vehicle are required. HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT: Knowledge of and dynamics of child abuse and neglect Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to include basic computer skills and e-mail usage Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member Ability to be very organized regarding paperwork, be detailed oriented, and have ability to effectively prioritize work responsibilities Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to work in a multicultural setting Requires strict adherence of HIPAA standards in the office workspace to ensure confidentiality EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families. Minimum 2 years of experience working with at-risk families. Thank you!
