About the Role: PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Responsible for the overall supervision of the social service staff to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of valuable families. Case Manager Supervisors are responsible for overseeing Case Managers that work independently. Responsible for conducting intakes, initial skills assessments, providing case management and offering referrals for permanent housing placements or to other appropriate programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least one-year supervisory experience required.
  • Good writing skills required.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following service areas is required: homeless related issues, criminal justice, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse.
  • Prior training experience in CARES database is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews documentation submitted by staff to ensure adherence to standards of quality, appropriateness and compliance with regulations
  • Supervising the case managers
  • Assists with orienting new staff to their role within the department
  • Reviewing, tracking and assigning all intakes
  • Facilitating case management orientation
  • Assists with data collection for measurement of productivity. Prepares monthly reports on statistics.
  • Providing direct casework supervision to case managers
  • Reviewing the quality of the casework and approving assessments and service plans
  • Assessing the training needs of the case managers and making recommendations for professional development
  • Monitors screening process for potential clients for program enrollment and orient clients to the program and describes program objectives.
  • Oversees initial intake assessments. Utilizes assessment tools (CARES) to identify support service needs and makes immediate referrals.
  • Maintains confidential case record for all clients.
  • Maintains contacts with outside agencies to refer or obtain additional client services.
  • Conducts collaborative efforts with service providers to maximize service delivery. Refers participants to job development for subsequent employment if appropriate.
  • Participates in ongoing education and professional development through courses, seminars and other in-service training in the areas of services for the homeless, cultural diversity training, supportive counseling and workforce.
  • Provides monthly service outcomes information and supporting documentation to Director of Social Services for reporting purposes as required by funding agencies.
  • Performs all other duties as requested by managerial staff and other duties as required.
