Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of child welfare experience required.
  • Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL) or ability to obtain required.
  • Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) required.
  • Specialty required.
  • Training in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO or availability to participate in training, coaching and fidelity to certification once hired required.
  • Successful completion of CCS Bootcamp, Client-Centered Service Planning and Aftercare Planning Training required.
  • Successful completion of four (4) of the following required: LSSI/COY Trauma Training Client-Centered Specialized Casework Training DCFS Adoption & Guardianship Training Co-Occurring Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Training Reunifying Families Training DCFS: Child and Family Meeting Training
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate families, youth and foster parents to participate in detailed interventions models.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of an individualized service plan for families in the Families Together Foster Care Program, from a whole family perspective, building the family’s ecosystem and concurrently planning permanency.
  • Coordinate and implement service plan components related to the family, foster family, and children/youth and within the team context, including facilitating regularly and ongoing child and family team meetings.
  • Complete all tasks within the context of the evidenced based model, ensuring the models are implemented with fidelity. Interventions will apply principles of social learning theory, developmental psychology and trauma-informed care.
  • Co-lead KEEP groups for foster parents or GenPMTO groups for parents.
  • Complete other case coordination duties, including case notes, safety assessments, service plans, court testimony, advocacy resource referrals and documentation as required by LSSI and DCFS.
  • Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision making, assessment, service planning, and intervention.
  • Present cases for staffing or participate in staffing as needed, including weekly team meetings.
  • Participate in the on-call/crisis intervention response for the TF Team.
  • Provide and coordinate a continuum of casework services on all levels of the child welfare system designed to achieve permanency for children and their family of origin, extended family, or a foster adoptive family within the policies of the agency, accreditation body, and regulatory entity.
  • Work closely with supervisor and other supportive team members to learn job performances, executes case notes, safety assessments, service plans and court reports on time.
  • Provides services using strength-based and Trauma Informed in practice.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
