The Housing Works Inc. Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) Program is a collaboration between Housing Works and the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to provide individuals 18 years of age and older with open legal cases with comprehensive, holistic behavioral health services in lieu of jail or prison. Individuals with open cases in Brooklyn or Manhattan criminal or supreme courts are eligible for the following court-mandated services: case management, substance use and mental health services, individual counseling, group level interventions and peer support. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Counselor will be primarily responsible for providing individual counseling for clients with a history or active substance use or behavioral health needs, facilitating evidence-based group level interventions, supporting clients non-compliant with the court mandates and promoting engagement and retention in program services. The ideal candidate will have an active NYS CASAC license or previous experience providing substance misuse or behavioral health counseling and experience providing services for individuals within the court-mandated treatment sector.
