The Coordinator provides dynamic leadership and student-centered oversight across a range of career-related and student engagement opportunities within one or more of MCC’s academic focus areas (AFA). This position designs and delivers career-related activities to reach all student groups served by the College, including credit students, K–12, and Community & Workforce Education students. The Coordinator works in partnership with other members of the team, staff and faculty to communicate and host career-engagement activities. The Coordinator supports student outreach, employer engagement, and employment opportunities for students within the designated academic area. This position supports job seeking systems and job placement activities for students. The academic focus areas are: Community and Human Services, Business, Creative Arts and Design, Health Professions, Information Technology, Skilled Trades and Technical Sciences, and Transfer. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Works with faculty and staff across the college to design, coordinate and catalog a full range of AFA career-exploration related activities and experiences to all student groups served by MCC, including credit students, K–12, and Community and Workforce Education students. Develops and offers ongoing, quarterly high-impact career-exploration and student engagement activities to allow students within the AFA to participate at all relevant campus locations, learning modalities, and timeframes; includes developing virtual and video options in addition to face-to-face activities. Oversees and coordinates AFA-related communication going to current students within the AFA. Coordinates and supports job seeking, earn-and-learn, internships and job placement systems for students. Tracks and reports student placement outcomes: employment while enrolled at MCC; employment post-completion, or a successful transfer to another institution. Tracks and reports student attendance and student engagement at AFA career-related and activities to assess outcomes and determine activity effectiveness. Hosts ongoing AFA team meetings to ensure coordination of ideas and activities among credit faculty, noncredit faculty, staff, and student workers within the AFA. Leads collegewide outreach teams in providing K-12 early career awareness activities. Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
