About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Special Procedures Technician for its Cardiac Cath / Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab at Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth. This role involves caring for patients with Cardiac, Peripheral Vascular, or Electrophysiology related diseases, and performing Interventional Radiology procedures such as vascular access, biliary and urinary interventions, and venous and arterial thrombectomy. The department is a Magnet designated facility, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure, and stroke, certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and a Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite. The position is PRN (as needed) with hours dependent on cases, and includes rotating weekend, holiday, and call requirements, necessitating a 30-minute call response time for clinical staff, including STEMI call. Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth is a 261-bed, full-service hospital specializing in surgical services, orthopedics, rehab services, imaging services, and adult critical care, with a 24-hour emergency department. It is also a certified Primary Heart Attack center, Primary Stroke center, Level III Trauma, Level III Maternal, Level III Neonatal center, certified Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement facility, and a nationally accredited Breast Center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years’ work experience in invasive cardiology required
  • Completion of an accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology (Must obtain RCIS within six (6) months) required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • Two (2) years’ experience required in lieu of degree with high school diploma
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required
  • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Obtain within 6 months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program) upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Within ninety (90) days of hire) required
  • RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (For Electrophysiology Labs (EP) only) upon hire required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Applied Science preferred
  • One (1) experience as radiologic technologist preferred or 1 Year Exp as cardiovascular invasive specialist preferred
  • Two (2) years Cath Lab experience strongly preferred
  • GMRT-General Medical Radiologic Technologist (if ARRT only) upon hire preferred
  • LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (if RCIS only) upon hire preferred
