JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lebanon, PA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Call Only • Coverage Period: May 10, 2026 – Ongoing • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM) • Call Type: In-House / Call • Call Ratio: Approximately 3 weekends per month • Callback Rate: Approximately 4 hours per day COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing coverage; approximately 3 weekends per month PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults (18+) • Patient Volume/Census: Not Specified • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Cardiothoracic surgery patients including urgent surgical cases and post-operative care FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 163 Hospital Beds • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard surgical and ICU equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiothoracic surgeon support available after consult • Support Staff Available: APP support team • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (with clean file) • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Vein harvesting • Cardiothoracic surgical assist • Post-operative patient management JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active PA license required or willingness to obtain • Board: Not Specified • DEA: Required • Certifications: Acute care certification not required • Experience: Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic or surgical experience • Other Qualifications: Strong surgical support and ICU management skills DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide weekend cardiothoracic surgery call coverage • Assist in surgical procedures including vein harvesting • Manage post-operative and ICU patients • Respond to callbacks and patient needs during call shifts • Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeon and care team • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active PA license required or willingness to obtain
- DEA: Required
- Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic or surgical experience
- Strong surgical support and ICU management skills
