About The Position

Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage need Start Date: As soon as credentialed Openings: 1 Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search Practice Setting: Inpatient, OR, Clinic and Call coverage 95% Hospital, 5% Clinic Cases include: General CTS (open) CABG (on pump) Valve repair/replacement Aneurysm repair Lung resection (open, VATS) Chest wall or pleural procedures Average census 5-10 Average 1-2 cases per day Practice includes 2 Physicians and 4 APPs Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p Rotating night and weekend call Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements

Active Washington licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 1-year Cardiothoracic Surgery experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Washington
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Washington
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
