About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a Cardiac Neuro Registered Nurse (Stroke Unit RN) for a permanent opportunity in Sanford, Florida. The Cardiac Neuro RN provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from stroke and other complex cardiac and neurological conditions. This role requires strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to manage patient care autonomously while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a patient-centered care model.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
  • Florida RN license or valid multistate compact license required (Florida licensure required within 60 days if compact).
  • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care RN experience preferred.
  • Candidates with acute rehab experience (e.g., Encompass, HealthSouth, Select Specialty, Kindred) may be considered if comfortable working in a Stroke Unit.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification required within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Strong neurological assessment and patient advocacy skills.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Candidates with acute rehab experience (e.g., Encompass, HealthSouth, Select Specialty, Kindred) may be considered if comfortable working in a Stroke Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Collect comprehensive data related to the patient’s health status and clinical condition.
  • Perform ongoing assessments and analyze data to identify diagnoses and patient care needs.
  • Monitor critical vital signs and intervene appropriately in life-threatening situations.
  • Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Deliver efficient, effective care while utilizing time, supplies, and equipment appropriately.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal recovery.
