About The Position

Sound Transit’s Capital Delivery department oversees Capital program throughout the Puget Sound region – Link, Sounder, ST Express, and Tacoma Link. The Project Management intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that oversees our Operations and Maintenance Facility Design and Construction services and learn how a large regional transit system is managed.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be current college students in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • The intern will support engineering managers and construction management staff by assisting with schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Documentation: Maintain project records, prepare reports, manage contractual documents.
  • Project Planning & Tracking: Assist in developing, tracking, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
  • Communication: Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project compliance.
  • Cost tracking/management: Assist estimators in gathering information for projects and review quantity takeoffs
  • Potential projects that may be assigned: OMF South North Maintenance of Way
