The Capital Planning & Governance Specialist position is responsible for supporting oversight of capital project related business analysis activities and governance occurring field operations and related technical departments across the Ameren Missouri business segment. Key responsibilities include: Support the development and execution of assigned investment categories for the five-year and annual multi billions capital budget. This includes analyzing and developing recommended annual capital targets and tracking adjustments to targets throughout the year to achieve the annual capital plan. Support development of the regulatory required capital plan filing to the MO Public Service Commission detailing the five-year capital plan and one-year capital look back results. Develop presentation and supporting materials for successful annual Smart Energy Plan Stakeholder meeting. Partners effectively with peer-level team members across a diverse set of departments and technical backgrounds (Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Legal, etc.) to achieve the capital results for Ameren Missouri by understanding and analyzing continually changing business needs, challenging capital requests, where needed, and accurately tracking capital allocation adjustments. In coordination with leadership, execute activities, provide support and collaborate with corporate and business unit leadership in matters of capital governance and analysis to include: capital planning and tracking of projects (both tactical and strategic), cost effectiveness, communication with internal and external stakeholders, and risk analysis. Support, develop and present recommendations to senior management and/or business area management regarding capital planning and spend. This may include challenging current strategic planning processes, creating tools for enhanced capital investment tracking and ensuring consistent system practice from all functions. Assists in creation of effective and professional slide presentations with inputs from core team for use with the Ameren Board of Directors and Ameren Missouri Senior Leadership sometimes going beyond the initial ask of stakeholders, and requests feedback on own work and provides feedback to others. Gathers data for ad-hoc analysis and investigate issues brought forth by Ameren Missouri leaders related to business and financial performance. Effectively communicate and present results of analysis to leadership including Manager and Directors. Review and understand business operations and disseminate analysis findings to leadership; identify and share best practices; and provide recommendations to upper management for areas of improvement in capital planning and approval processes. Analyze business intelligence information using a variety of internal IT systems including Powerpoint, Excel and Power BI. Organize and maintain the structure of files on various platforms – e.g., Microsoft Teams, shared drives, SharePoints, Oracle systems, etc Act as part of Storm Emergency Operations Center Response Team. Act as central point of contact and grant manager for the Federal Department of Energy grants awarded to Ameren Missouri through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
