About The Position

The Capital Campaign Officer provides strategic leadership and execution for the YMCA’s comprehensive capital campaign initiatives. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the campaign to ensure successful fundraising outcomes aligned with the YMCA’s mission, strategic priorities, and community impact goals. This campaign will support the expansion and enhancement of the YMCA’s strength and cardio spaces to better serve members of all ages and abilities, creating a more inclusive and accessible wellness environment. The campaign will also fund the expansion of the YMCA’s preschool program to increase access to high-quality early childhood education and meet growing community demand. Position Status: This is a temporary position created specifically to support the YMCA’s Capital Campaign. Employment in this role is expected to continue for the duration of the Capital Campaign and will conclude upon completion of the campaign or achievement of its fundraising objectives. (Estimate 2 years)

Requirements

  • 2-4 years nonprofit fundraising or relationship-driven experience.
  • Have an understanding and be committed to the YMCA mission and character development.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Must meet all pre-employment requirements including but not limited to the criminal history investigation.
  • Comfortable working closing with high net worth individuals.
  • Within 90 days of hire must complete: CPR/AED/ BFA training and Safe Schools.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in current technology and social media programs related to resource development is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive capital campaign plan, including timeline, financial targets, case for support, and donor strategies.
  • Create and manage structured phases of the campaign (quiet phase, public phase, celebration).
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Prepare personalized proposals, presentations, and impact reports.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications Director to develop campaign messaging and materials.
  • Oversee creation of campaign collateral, donor recognition plans, and naming opportunities.
  • Establish systems to track pledges, payments, donor engagement, and reporting.
  • Monitor campaign budget and expenditures.
