About The Position

The Campus Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the School's safety and security policies. This role involves conducting regular safety assessments and risk analyses, coordinating emergency preparedness drills, and serving as the primary contact for safety concerns and incidents. The coordinator will also train staff and students on safety procedures, collaborate with law enforcement and school administration, and monitor security systems. Key duties include investigating incidents, managing the electronic access keycard system, and assisting with daily school operations such as morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, bus loading/unloading, and facility support for school events.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years experience in campus security, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, parents, staff, faculty, and other constituents.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a self-directed manner.
  • Excellent judgment, poise, and discretion.
  • Ability to positively represent the school in all settings and circumstances.
  • Appreciation for the educational mission and culture of the school.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CSSO certified with Arkansas State Police or a reserve officer with a local department.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the School's safety and security policies.
  • Conducting regular safety assessments and risk analyses.
  • Coordinating emergency preparedness drills (fire drills, lockdown drills, evacuation procedures, etc.).
  • Serving as the contact for safety concerns and incidents.
  • Training staff and students on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborating with law enforcement, emergency responders, and school administration.
  • Monitoring security systems, including cameras, alarms, and access controls.
  • Investigating and documenting safety incidents.
  • Managing the School's electronic access keycard system. This includes issuing cards, monitoring card access, and reissuing cards as needed.
  • Assisting with morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, and bus loading and unloading.
  • Assisting facility needs as time and duties allow with the set-up of school events, delivery of goods, and other related duties as determined by the Director of Safety and Security.
