About The Position

The primary purpose of the Campus Safety Supervisor is to provide oversight to their assigned Campus Safety Officers and represent Lynn University in daily campus safety operations. Ensure proper campus safety personnel and handle any student, faculty, staff, or guest concerns and issues. To maintain a professional customer service-oriented approach at all times.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with CCTV.
  • Leadership, Time Management, Multitasking, and crisis management abilities.
  • Highschool diploma or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be permitted to drive in the state of Florida.
  • Must be willing and able to be certified in CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to a designated shift within the operational structure of the department.
  • Engage in consistent support to staff, visible patrol, and astute observation to promote the physical safety of the campus and the safety of students, employees, and guests on the campus.
  • Ensure adequate response to all matters reported during shift.
  • Actively engage in prevention techniques to promote the safety of the campus and elevate concerns to the appropriate administrator for discussion when appropriate.
  • Ensure that all Lynn University policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Resolve conflict with parents, students, faculty, and staff in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner at all times.
  • Execute training requirements for the Campus Safety staff.
  • Review and approve all Incident Reports generated during shift.
  • Ensure the reports contain the relevant facts for dissemination to the university administration.
  • Plan and schedule shift personnel, approve vacation requests, administer counseling and disciplinary action when necessary, and maintain shift personnel records.
  • Provide leadership and management during urgent situations until administrative personnel is present.
  • Actively engage and participate in assessment and accreditation efforts within the campus safety department.
  • Actively engage in programming for students, faculty, and staff relating to campus safety topics.
  • Act as a First Responder when the university is in a crisis (i.e., hurricanes, fires, floods, etc.).
