Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, NY (12571) , this position is responsible for assisting in the overall program shift management. They will provide guidance and assistance when needed for crisis situations. The EOD will provide direction and oversight of daily shift operations. They will demonstrate good telephone triage skills to assist in crisis management; demonstrate good problem solving skills and knowledge of effective resource management strategies; and, will demonstrate knowledge of regularly used computer systems (ie: RADAR, Excel, Word, Precision Care, Kronos, Outlook).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a comparable residential/day habilitation treatment program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Must handle detailed, complex concepts and problems and make rapid decisions.
  • Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances.
  • Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 50 lbs. or more is required.
  • Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to single-handedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing 70 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree preferred.
