About The Position

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of part-time permanent Campground Attendant within the Division of Parks & Watercraft , headquartered at Blue Rock State Park in Muskingum County . This is a permanent part-time position budgeted for 1560 hours per fiscal year (approximately 30 hours per week). This position will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary
  • 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations
  • 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in campground safety practices
  • 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in first aid
  • Valid driver's license
  • In accordance with Section 124.11 (B) (2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.
  • Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to park guests by answering park questions, explaining rules, and issuing passes to campground visitors
  • Register guests and assign camping areas including collecting money, entering information into the registration system, and directing guests to camping locations
  • Work in the camp store selling merchandise and camping supplies, assisting with inventory, and restocking merchandise
  • Clean and maintain camp check-in office and perform general camp area maintenance

Benefits

  • Starting hourly pay of $19.71/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $21.64/hr. There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied.
