About The Position

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) works to preserve the constitutional right to trial by jury and to make sure people have a fair chance to seek justice when they are injured by the negligence or misconduct of others - even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations. AAJ is seeking a Campaign Manager. This role will manage the day-to-day of AAJ’s issue-based campaigns. As part of the broader advocacy team, this role will plan, implement, and oversee multiple projects across state and federal issues, helping to develop and execute a variety of campaign activities such as paid and earned media, polling, coalition-building, and other related campaign activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Equivalent years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Five or more years’ experience managing political or issue-based campaigns, with at least two statewide or Congressional-level cycles. Experience managing competitive House or Senate races or ballot initiatives are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple campaigns and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Is flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and can prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator with strong time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across diverse teams.
  • Occasional travel to events as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with communications, policy, and fundraising a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of AAJ’s issue-based campaigns while coordinating with the larger team to integrate communications, research, lobbying, fundraising, and organizing efforts into each project.
  • While working across different departments, oversee campaign timelines, deliverables, and budget.
  • Monitor campaign performance and advise on strategy as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and important stakeholders on campaign progress, milestones, and results.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key coalition partners, stakeholders, and community organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
