About The Position

As Campaign Manager, you will serve as the campaign’s chief strategist and operational lead, responsible for overseeing all aspects of a statewide race. You will manage senior staff and consultants, integrate strategy across departments, and ensure the campaign remains disciplined, compliant, and competitive in a dynamic political environment. This position demands strong leadership, clear decision-making, and the ability to balance long-term strategy with rapid-response execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressively senior campaign experience , including at least one full-cycle statewide or large-scale federal campaign in a campaign management or senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-region campaigns with large staff, volunteer bases, and consultant teams.
  • Strong understanding of New York State political dynamics, voter demographics, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building disciplined, high-performing teams under pressure.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and sound political judgment.
  • Experience overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets and high-volume fundraising operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort serving as a senior campaign spokesperson when needed.
  • Proficiency with campaign tools and platforms, including NGP VAN , voter data systems, and Google Workspace.
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively throughout New York State as required.
  • Strong alignment with Democratic values and a commitment to advancing a progressive policy agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine a comprehensive statewide campaign plan , including voter targeting, regional strategy, messaging, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor to the candidate, working closely to align campaign priorities, public posture, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and coordinate senior campaign staff and consultants across field, finance, communications, digital, and operations , ensuring integration and accountability.
  • Build and manage a strong statewide campaign infrastructure, including regional directors and departmental leads.
  • Oversee statewide voter contact programs, including paid and volunteer canvassing, phone and text programs, relational organizing, and coalition outreach.
  • Lead fundraising strategy in coordination with finance staff and consultants, including call time, major donor cultivation, events, PAC engagement, and digital fundraising.
  • Direct message development and communications strategy across earned media, paid media, digital, and surrogate engagement.
  • Approve press materials, speeches, public statements, and campaign messaging to ensure consistency and discipline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key statewide stakeholders, including elected officials, party leaders, labor unions, advocacy organizations, and endorsing groups.
  • Ensure full compliance with New York State Board of Elections regulations, campaign finance laws, and reporting requirements; oversee campaign operations and internal controls.
  • Manage campaign budget, cash flow, and financial reporting in coordination with finance and operations staff.
  • Anticipate and resolve strategic, political, personnel, and logistical challenges in a fast-moving statewide environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with North Shore Strategies leadership and the Lead Account Manager to evaluate performance, adjust tactics, and ensure alignment with broader strategic goals.
