About The Position

The Events & Campaign Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all Kids In Distress (KID) and Family Central (FCI) signature fundraising events, campaigns, and community engagement initiatives. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Advancement, this role leads event strategy and execution with precision, creativity, and donor-centered excellence. The manager serves as a key connector between donors, sponsors, committees, volunteers, staff, and community partners ensuring that each event and campaign strengthens relationships, advances revenue goals, and reinforces the mission of supporting children and families across South Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in event management, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM Platforms (Blackbaud, BetterUnite) and Merchant Services (Stripe, PayPal, Square)
  • Licenses (e.g., driver's license for travel).
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours during audits or special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all KID/FCI signature events from planning through execution and post-event reporting, with direction from the VP of Advancement.
  • Manage event lead assignments, committee communications, donor communications, sponsorship coordination, and logistics.
  • Create exceptional event experiences for sponsors, donors, participants, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Develop and manage detailed event timelines, run-of-show documents, staffing plans, and execution checklists.
  • Oversee all event logistics including venues, permits, vendors, entertainment, equipment, and on-site operations.
  • Negotiate with vendors as needed to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality execution.
  • Interact regularly with sponsors and committee members to advance event goals and strengthen relationships.
  • Organize and facilitate event committee meetings, including agendas and follow-up communications.
  • Create and coordinate wish lists for auction items, prizes, and incentives with the support of the team.
  • Maintain accurate records of potential auction donors and acquisition efforts.
  • Acquire auction items directly and/or delegate acquisition responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Oversee bulk mailings and fulfillment related to events and campaigns.
  • Assist the VP of Advancement in brainstorming event themes, campaign strategies, and promotional concepts.
  • Support the team, as needed, with the brainstorming and execution of seasonal and annual fundraising campaigns.
  • Execute assigned event marketing and promotional activities in coordination with the Marketing Manager.
  • With the support of the Marketing Manager and Donor Operations and Stewardship Manger, determine and oversee all digital components of events (virtual or in-person), including: Event websites and landing pages, online registrations and peer-to-peer tools, donor and participant communications.
  • With the support of the Marketing Manager develop and write peer-to-peer fundraising strategies and communications to ensure an engaging supporter experience.
  • Write, create, or collaborate on donor, sponsor, and participant communications across email, print, and digital platforms.
  • Assist with special event budgeting by tracking expenses and maintaining accurate invoice records.
  • Support post-event reconciliation, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Maintain integrity of event files, documentation, and shared network drives.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative support as needed.
  • Determine volunteer needs for each event and ensure all roles are filled
  • Work closely with the Corporate & Community Partnerships Manager to lead, motivate, and steward event volunteers.
  • Coordinate volunteers through staff, corporate partners, individuals, student groups, and community organizations.
  • Ensure volunteers have a meaningful, organized, and positive experience.
  • Act as a KID/FCI liaison for community events, representing the organization professionally and consistently.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community groups and organizations to increase awareness and partnerships.
  • Assist with donor recognition, stewardship, and cultivation initiatives in a timely manner.
  • Research and solicit potential corporations and associations as requested.
  • Demonstrate the ability to increase revenue through sponsorships, attendance, in-kind contributions, and partnerships.
  • Submit proposals, letters, follow-up reports, and other materials to funders and prospective supporters.
  • Assist the VP of Advancement with additional development-related tasks as needed.
