As the Camp Ranger at Andersen Scout Camp in beautiful Houlton, WI, on the St Croix River you will be responsible for both the on-site management and maintenance of the property. This full-time position includes a work truck, on-site housing at no cost to you, including paid utilities: 2 bedroom - 2 bathroom home with detached garage stall in the Somerset School District. The annual compensation range for this position is $37,500 - $55,000, with most newly-hired employees starting at $40,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Must be age 21 or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, problem solver and team leader
  • Basic maintenance skills and ability to learn and improve as required
  • Experience with commercial and residential lawn care, snowplow, chainsaws and skid steer (If no experience, then ability to quickly learn)
  • Must have working knowledge of computers and internet: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Previous camp and facilities management; camp ranger/maintenance; volunteer management
  • Experience with budget management
  • Carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills above a home-owner level
  • Scouting experience helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Keep all physical property and equipment in operational condition and good appearance.
  • Perform scheduled routine maintenance.
  • Complete projects as noted on monthly and annual maintenance project lists.
  • Ensure safe operations by adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide strong customer service to facility and site rentals, including coordination of weekly housekeeping duties.
  • Purchase supplies as needed and within budget parameters.
  • Provide leadership to volunteers who assist at the property
