About The Position
Wayfinder Family Services is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Camp Counselors to join our 2026 summer team at Camp Bloomfield, a life-changing outdoor experience for children, youth, adults, and families who are blind, visually impaired, or have multiple disabilities. Wayfinder's Camp Bloomfield is a residential summer camp, where campers and staff live on-site for the duration of each session. Staff are involved in all aspects of camp life, leading activities, supporting campers, and helping create a safe, fun, and engaging environment throughout the day and evening. As a Camp Counselor, you’ll help create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where campers can challenge themselves, build friendships, and gain confidence through outdoor adventure and connection.
Requirements
- High school diploma, required.
- Desire to work with children, teens, and adults who are blind, visually impaired, and multi-disabled.
- Ability to lead small and large groups in activities.
Nice To Haves
- Prior camp counselor experience, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in camp activities such as arts, sports, nature, and team challenges
- Provide supervision, guidance, and personal assistance to campers of varying abilities
- Encourage inclusion, independence, and confidence in all participants
- Collaborate with co-counselors, nurses, and leadership staff to maintain camper safety and well-being
- Attend all orientation and training sessions prior to camp start
