About The Position

Old Colony YMCA is seeking a Camp Coordinator for its summer outdoor day camp programs. This role involves guiding and inspiring campers aged 10 through 15 year olds through exciting and educational outdoor activities. The coordinator will serve as a role model, oversee staff and children within the designated age group, communicate with parents, and help support children of all abilities. The position offers a fun and impactful summer experience, with mandatory training days that are branch dependent.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old by June 1st
Up-to-date physical and immunizations (same as required for school), including evidence of physical examination every two years, negative Mantoux TB test, immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella, and certification of good health from a physician
Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, talk, see, and hear
Ability to lead age-appropriate games and activities
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year previous experience in camp or school-age programs or in teaching
Certification if required for specialties (e.g., ropes, waterfront)
Must be able to walk around camp all day as well as stand, stoop and sit
