About The Position

This position is responsible for: Leading children's activities at a day camp including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; preparing and serving children lunch and snacks; assisting in leading field trips; maintaining the cleanliness of the camp area.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers’ License
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or educational setting
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
• Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities.
• Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children’s safety in utilizing the same.
• Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline techniques.
