Level 1 Calibration Technicians will perform routine calibrations of low to mid-level instruments in the calibration laboratory and where necessary, at customer’s locations (on-site).

Requirements

  • Military training or experience (PMEL OR TMDE) or an Associates Degree (or related technical field); OR equivalent work experience & training
  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial or military calibration laboratory experience
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet research, and data entry
  • Experience in interacting with customers in a courteous and professional manner and providing an excellent customer experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial calibration, calibrating test and measurement equipment in the following disciplines: Dimensional, Mechanical, Torque, Hand Tools, Surface Plates, and Scales (benchtop and floor)
  • Knowledge of ANSI / NCSL Z-540-1, ISO 9000, and ISO/IEC 17025
  • Experience using Calibration Lab Software such as LabView, SureCal, Met/Cal, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations on medium to high level test and measurement instrumentation in the calibration laboratory, and where necessary, at customer’s locations (on-site)
  • Use troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on all equipment and services
  • Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon specifications and approved procedures
  • Follow established policies and procedures in conducting on-site or in-house repair and calibration of equipment to ensure it meet high standards of performance
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and performs repairs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
