About The Position

Based in Los Angeles, BD&J is the leading personal injury law firm seeking experienced, quality team members. Having recovered over $2 billion for our clients, we pride ourselves on being a firm our clients can trust. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Calendar Clerk to join our team. This position will work closely with our Catastrophic Injury Team, supporting high-value cases that are actively litigated and often proceed to trial. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring all court deadlines, appearances, and trial dates are accurately calendared and communicated across the litigation team.

Requirements

  • Previous calendaring or docketing experience, preferably in high-volume litigation or personal injury law.
  • Strong understanding of court rules, deadlines, and trial preparation workflows.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, dependable, and highly organized in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using legal case management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a master litigation calendar for catastrophic injury and trial-bound cases.
  • Track and calculate critical deadlines, including hearings, depositions, expert disclosures, and discovery cutoffs.
  • Communicate calendar events clearly and promptly to attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
  • Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel to confirm appearance dates and manage schedule changes.
  • Regularly update internal systems with any calendar changes or deadline modifications.
  • Provide ongoing reminders and reports to litigation teams to ensure all obligations are met on time.
  • Collaborate with trial teams to ensure calendar alignment during case preparation and trial phases.
