The Calendar Unit, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, is seeking a talented Assistant Calendar Clerk to join our team. The Calendar Unit, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, is seeking a talented Assistant Calendar Clerk to join our team. This position is located in the Clerk’s Office and reports to the Operations Supervisor. The Calendar Unit is responsible for setting the Court’s hearing schedule and for providing judges with necessary case materials. The successful candidate will have a steady, professional demeanor, keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working within a fast paced and diverse team environment.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent, plus two years of progressively responsible legal or federal work experience in the above representative duties
  • General knowledge of court procedures, practices, and the Ninth Circuit
  • Proficiency with email, window applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Demonstrated, proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to understand and apply established rules and procedures
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident in the process of applying for citizenship
  • Successful applicants are provisionally hired pending results of background investigation and fingerprinting
  • Employees are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees
  • Direct deposit of pay required
