About The Position

Column Technical Services is seeking a Cafeteria Associate to help deliver exceptional meals and warm hospitality to patients, staff, and visitors. In this dynamic role, you'll set up and manage food stations, prepare and serve meals, and ensure every dish meets our high standards for quality and presentation. You'll also handle transactions with accuracy and care, keeping our service smooth and efficient. S hifts are available from 5:00 am - 12:00 am Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays, Job Summary: Responsible for performing a range of food service duties to ensure high-quality food and customer service for patients, staff, and visitors in the Main Cafeteria and satellite locations, including the OR Lounge, Starbucks, Cyber Cafe, and BAIC.

Requirements

Beginner level Math Calculations.
High School Diploma / GED.

Responsibilities

Set up, maintain, and break down assigned workstations, including equipment, serving ware, utensils, supplies, and food items, ensuring readiness for service.
Complete requisition forms for required food and supplies; obtain approval from the Cafeteria Supervisor and submit to storeroom clerks.
Retrieve food and supply orders from the storeroom and verify accuracy against requisitions.
Review menu items and prepare stations with necessary equipment, serving ware, utensils, supplies, and food as outlined in the station checklist.
Display appropriate signage for menu items.
Store food and supplies in designated areas according to station guidelines.
Conduct pre-service inspections of assigned stations using the checklist and report any issues to the supervisor.
Replenish food and supplies throughout the shift to maintain par levels and ensure continuous availability.
Break down stations after each meal period following checklist procedures.
Inspect food prior to service to ensure it meets quality, appearance, presentation, portion size, and temperature standards.
Monitor food consistency and remove items that do not meet standards; notify supervisor and replace them with acceptable items.
Serve food based on customer requests within established guidelines.
Communicate any feedback regarding food quality to the supervisor.
Prepare food items as required by station assignment, following portion sizes and production sheets.
Operate cash register to process food purchases.
Retrieve assigned cash bank from personal vault or manager; verify bank amount and report discrepancies immediately.
Log into the register using personal credentials and transfer bank contents to the cash drawer.
Process all cash and charge transactions using the computerized system (e.g., InfoGenesis) in accordance with department policies.
Collect payments and food service vouchers; store them securely in the register drawer.
Provide accurate change to customers and monitor change levels; request additional change from customer cashiers as needed.
Log out of register, restore bank to original amount, and record deposit totals. Deposit funds with customer cashiers or in the cafeteria safe if the main cashier office is closed.
Return assigned bank to personal vault or manager at the end of the shift.
Enter deposit amounts into the computerized register system.
