About The Position

Jefferson Community and Technical College are seeking a Cafe Manager to oversee daily food service operations, work and train students at each station, ensure high-quality customer experiences, and maintain a safe, compliant environment. This role is responsible for supervising student workers, managing inventory, and coordinating catering events to support the campus community.

Requirements

• ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN CULINARY ARTS
• 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role. 5 years of culinary experience
• Must possess a valid Serv Safe Manager Certification (or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

• 5 years of experience in food service or hospitality, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is a plus.
• Must possess a valid Serv Safe Manager Certification (or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cafe operations, including opening/closing procedures
• Compliance with local health department regulations and safety standards.
• Training and managing staff (specifically student workers)
• Provide exceptional customer service with a "customer-first" mentality to resolve issues gracefully.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing for reporting to the Program Coordinator and interacting with the college community.
• Work the required schedule (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday).
• Plan, set up, and execute catering events.
