About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Café Attendant/Barista to support the seamless operation of The Gate Cafe. As a Café Attendant/Barista, you play a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences for our customers. You'll ensure exceptional service, quality beverages, and a welcoming environment. This position involves handling transactions, preparing beverages according to standards, and maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

Previous successful experience as a barista is essential.
Proficiency in cash handling, including basic math and counting skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
At least one year of continuous customer service experience, ideally in food and beverage.
Passion for service and a knack for anticipating customer needs.
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency required.
Hardworking, efficient, and effective with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer interaction.
Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
Willingness to work long hours when needed

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of coffee preparation or a barista background is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Welcome and assist customers, understanding and meeting their needs proactively.
Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages to exact brand standards.
Serve food items in line with our location's high standards.
Manage work assignments, ensuring tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.
Operate the register/POS accurately, handling cash and credit transactions with precision.
Maintain cash drawers, complete cashier slips, and handle deposits securely.
Set up and clean coffee bars, stations, and store areas, ensuring they are sanitized and orderly.
Stock and organize beverage coolers, grab-and-go items, and service ware.
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
