About The Position

The Café Attendant, is an essential part of the Spa Kitchen team at Rock Barn Country Club and Spa. This role focuses on preparing and presenting menu items, including salads, wraps, sandwiches, and sides such as potato salad, pasta salad, and fruit. The position emphasizes food quality, presentation, and guest dietary needs, along with advance planning to meet daily service requirements. The Pantry Personnel will count expected guests ahead of time to ensure adequate preparation and collaborate closely with the Hospitality Lead for dietary needs.

  • SERVSAFE Certification required to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cold Food Preparation and Assembly: Prepare ingredients and assemble menu items, including salads, wraps, sandwiches, and side dishes.
  • Arrange and plate food items with attention to quality and visual appeal.
  • Create dressings, marinades, and dips to accompany dishes to company specifications.
  • Work with the Hospitality Lead to ensure guest dietary needs are met.
  • Guest Count and Prep Planning: Review the guest count ahead of time to prepare the appropriate amount of ingredients and portions.
  • Adjust prep needs based on expected guest volume and communicate requirements to management as needed.
  • Guest Dietary Needs: Collaborate with the Hospitality Lead to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Ensure appropriate ingredients are available to meet guest needs.
  • Daily Prep and Stocking: Prepare ingredients for daily service, ensuring all items are ready and accessible.
  • Track and communicate next-day ingredients and supply needs.
  • Stock pantry areas daily, keeping items organized and accessible.
  • Food Storage and Rotation: Properly store ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Rotate stock regularly, checking expiration dates and discarding expired items, communicate waste with Lead.
  • Label and date containers to maintain accurate tracking.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized pantry area and follow all sanitation standards.
  • Place and update labels of food.
  • Wash and sanitize utensils, equipment, and work surfaces as needed.
  • Follow all health code standards.
  • Prepare beverages such as coffee or tea for guests and staff.
  • Receive and inspect food deliveries for quality, then store items appropriately, check expiration dates on arrival.
  • Required to complete other duties as assigned
