About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Café Associate/Food Attendant to join our kitchen team. As a Café Associate/Food Attendant, you are an essential part of creating an exceptional daily experience for guests, staff, and visitors. You combine friendly customer service with light food preparation and thoughtful upkeep of high‑traffic areas such as grab‑and‑go stations and coffee service. Your efforts support a smooth, welcoming environment that reflects Thomas Cuisine’s commitment to REAL Food, Genuine Service, and Enduring Relationships.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of previous experience in cashiering, café service, barista duties, or foodservice preferred.
  • Friendly, customer‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare simple food items using established recipes and portioning standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card (or willingness to obtain, if required).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, attentive customer service to all guests, supporting a positive and efficient café experience.
  • Operate the cash register/POS with accuracy while processing transactions quickly and professionally.
  • Prepare and assemble Cuisine Express grab‑and‑go items following portioning, freshness, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain and stock break‑room coffee stations—including brewing, replenishing supplies, and ensuring equipment cleanliness.
  • Restock beverages, snacks, condiments, and other café essentials to keep service areas ready and appealing.
  • Keep café, condiment, and self‑service areas clean, sanitary, and well‑organized in alignment with food‑safety expectations.
  • Communicate inventory needs, equipment concerns, or guest feedback to supervisors promptly.
  • Support other front‑of‑house or light prep tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operation.
  • Other duties as assigned
