About The Position

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training. The Cadet role is based in School Infrastructure, which delivers new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW. As a Cadet Support Officer with School Infrastructure, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects that help shape and improve public education across NSW. You will be supported through a structured program that includes on-the-job learning, mentoring and professional development, with exposure to experienced infrastructure professionals and project teams. This role supports the First Nations Engagement in School Infrastructure (FNESI) program, which focuses on creating meaningful employment opportunities for First Nations people and businesses within Facilities Maintenance Contract, particularly through local and regional contractors located on the traditional area/s of their tribal group (also known as ‘on Country’). You are motivated, curious and ready to build your career in the infrastructure sector. You bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
