About The Position

This position creates and modifies technical drawings, schematics, and 2D/3D models from sketches, hardline drawings, other electronic formats, and “red line drawings” using CAD software. The CAD Technician III will work closely with the project management team to ensure that the deliverables produced are per the project specifications and requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Design or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of CAD experience.
  • Certified Survey Technician Certification Level III+, SIT certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and FDOT surveying.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided.
  • Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations.
  • Works with integrity and ethically; supports organization’s culture, goals, and values.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages, and area.)
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures.
  • Ability to write information including reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively to clients, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and must maintain eligibility to drive as per the Company Vehicle policy.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • The job requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or listen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Licensed Surveyor and Mapper in applying Land Surveying principles and methods.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and practices.
  • Perform boundary research, calculation, and analysis.
  • Perform deed research and deed plotting.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, survey drawings, and plats.
  • Provide technical office support.
  • Perform quality control checks of drawings and deliverables.
  • Ensure schedules and production objections are met.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reports by data review and resolving discrepancies internally for assigned projects.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff and clients.
  • Organize, multi-task, prioritize, and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet, establish, and prioritize.
  • Collect, organize, disseminate, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • May perform light office duties including but not limited to filing, making copies, and scanning.
  • May carry out other duties as assigned by management.
