About The Position

Our CAD Designer plays an important part on the Watson Metal Masters Engineering team. The Engineering Team works with the Project Managers, the Sales Team, Quality, and Production in designing equipment that solves complex challenges for our customers' manufacturing needs. They have a pivotal role in our product design process and work to analyze new ways we can improve our current and future designs based on their extensive knowledge. Requirements

  • Associates degree in mechanical engineering/design strongly preferred; may consider equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of 3D modeling software; Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred
  • Experienced in the use of ERP or MRP Software (i.e., Syteline);
  • Experience in the design of ASME pressure vessels preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience.
  • Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
  • Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and must be able to talk and hear.
  • The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in the use of ERP or MRP Software (i.e., Syteline);
  • Experience in the design of ASME pressure vessels preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs pressure vessels, tanks, agitators, platforms and ladders that are specific to customer requirements using 3D modeling software.
  • Updates current production designs to meet customer needs, in keeping with internal standards.
  • Develops Bill of Material, customer drawings, manufacturing drawings and other related engineering documents.
  • Provides product and part design innovations resulting in improved quality and cost reductions.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
