About The Position

Founded in 1903, Klingberg Family Centers is a private, nonprofit multi-service agency providing help and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, severe family problems, and mental health issues. The Klingberg Children’s Advocacy Center (“KCAC”) is the hub of a multidisciplinary partnership between professionals that investigates allegations of child abuse and exploitation in a child-friendly, developmentally and clinically appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner. Our multidisciplinary team (“MDT”) [https://klingberg.org/programs-services/hartford-multidisciplinary-teams-mdt/] approach reduces the number of investigative interviews for the victim, allows for medical and mental health services to be more quickly and effectively coordinated for the victim and non-offending family members, and ensures that the team has the appropriate information to reach a result in each case that is in the best interest of the child. Our services include a forensic interview, a coordinated MDT response, specialized mental health services and referrals for specialized medical exams, All KCAC services are tailored to each child and family’s clinical, financial, linguistic, and cultural needs. The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development for the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Director ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, child-centered services to children and families impacted by abuse, neglect, and violence. This position supports the multidisciplinary team (MDT), maintains compliance with accreditation standards (such as those set by National Children's Alliance), and strengthens partnerships with law enforcement, child protective services, medical providers, mental health professionals, and prosecutors. The Director is responsible for fiscal management, grant administration, community engagement, staff hiring and supervision, ensuring best-practice standards in forensic interviewing, advocacy, and victim services.
