About The Position

The Counseling and Assessment Clinic (CAC) at Texas A&M University invites applications for Psychologists I through IV. Each of these roles offers a unique opportunity to accrue supervised postdoctoral experience while contributing to meaningful advances in the mental health field. The Counseling and Assessment Clinic (CAC) is an APA accredited psychological services clinic associated with the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. The CAC is seeking a Psychologist I to join our team and make a meaningful impact through the provision of individual, group, couples, and family therapy, as well as consultation-liaison services/skills training (parent training, social skills training, coaching), and comprehensive psychological evaluations. Under general supervision, this role will provide in-person services to residents of the Brazos Valley and will have the opportunity to interact with and mentor doctoral students in the Counseling and School Psychology programs at Texas A&M University. This is an opportunity for temporary/casual work with the potential for a flexible work schedule, to include weekend availability. In addition to providing an opportunity to accrue the supervised postdoctoral experience required for licensures, this position would allow you to stay at the forefront of your professional field and contribute to advances in the mental health field by coming to work at the CAC. Requirements

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
  • One (1) year full-time supervised pre-doctoral internship in a relevant setting.
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas as a Licensed Psychologist.
  • Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment.
  • Must maintain licensure for continued employment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of office software and scoring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and groups
  • Complete psychological evaluations for individuals that address a variety of reasons for referral
  • Maintain and provide evidence when requested of professional liability insurance
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities per state licensure requirements
  • Meet ethical obligations for timely documentation of services per State of Texas licensure requirements and CAC policies
  • Engage in therapy and evaluation related activities including administering and interpreting psychological tests/inventories
  • Assist with attracting and retaining potential clients
  • Determine fees for services provided
  • Ensure clients submit payments at time of service/scheduled appointment
  • Provide informal supervision to doctoral level students in the Counseling and School Psychology programs
  • Provide consultation to faculty and staff
  • Seek consultation from peers for difficult clinical cases per State of Texas licensure requirements
